GeoExchange (Geothermal) heating and cooling systems are the most energy-efficient, environmentally clean, and cost-effective space conditioning systems available according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
The EPA reports that GeoExchange systems can reduce energy consumption
(and corresponding emissions) by over 70% compared to electric resistance
heating with standard air-conditioning equipment!
On a source fuel basis (that is accounting for all losses including
the generation of electricity generation at the power plant), GeoExchange
systems are also far more efficient than competing fossil fuel technologies.
In fact, GeoExchange systems are an average of 48% more
efficient than the best gas furnaces and over 75% more
efficient than oil furnaces!
Why? Because it requires less energy and is more efficient
for a GeoExchange system to move heat from one place to another than
it is for a combustion furnace to convert one kind of energy into
another. In the heating mode, an efficient GeoExchange system will
move at least three units of solar energy from the ground for each
unit of electricity used by the heat pump and its accessories.

central heating systems check out the following link - www.GeoExchange.org/about/compare.htm
GeoExchange systems represent a financial savings to homeowners
of 30% to 70% in the heating mode, and 20% to 50% in the cooling mode
compared to conventional systems. Well-designed residential systems
exhibit positive cash flows from the first month since the incremental
cost of amortizing the GeoExchange system is less than the cost of
the fuel or electricity not consumed.
The Commercial and Institutional building sector is also embracing
GeoExchange technology for its ability to control and reduce rising
energy costs as well as return a level of predictability to budget
planning. In some cases hundreds of dollars per ton can be saved relative
to conventional systems.
Overall, a study by the EPA showed that GeoExchange systems have
the lowest life-cycle cost of any HVAC system available today. The
study also indicated that GeoExchange systems have the lowest impact
on our environment and that consumers rank their comfort and satisfaction
with GeoExchange systems higher than all others.
GeoExchange systems are also free of the dangers of carbon monoxide,
fire, and explosion associated with combustion furnaces.
From a building design perspective a GeoExchange system allows greater
architectural flexibility as rooftops do not need to be flat to support
massive cooling towers, less physical space is removed from the floor
plan for mechanical equipment, and all hardware is protect indoors
against weather and vandalism.
While a higher initial investment is required for a GeoExchange system,
the capital investment is paid back through lower energy bills, maintenance
costs and long-term property value.

Today there are 1,000,000 GeoExchange systems installed worldwide.
Ground-source heat pumps (GSHP) now represent one of the fastest-growing
renewable energy technologies with an annual growth rate of approximately
20%!
Given the growing realization that fossil fuel supplies and prices
will continue to become increasingly unpredictable in our future...
| that the protection of the environment must be an integral part of our global strategic planning... |
||
| and that GeoExchange still only represents a mere 1% of the total HVAC market in Canada and the US... | ||
GeoExchange is the Next Generation energy solution!
It is part of our future.
